Who Do You Really Call and Fear? Your Aqeedah Is Answering

All praise is due to Allah. Peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Final success belongs to the righteous, and there is no transgression except against the wrongdoers. As-Salaam Alaikum Wa Rah’matullahi Wa Barakaatuh! A Note Before You Read: In the last article, you saw how the three principles become your answers in the grave. Now we move deeper. Not just what you believe. But how you worship. Because عبادات (worship) are the proof of those principles. And we begin with two: Du’a. Khawf (fear). First: Du’a (Supplication) Du’a is not a small act. It is worship itself. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Du’a is worship.” (Sunan at-Tirmidhi 2969, Hasan Sahih) Du’a carries two meanings: Du’a of worship, like Salah, fasting, Zakah, and Hajj. Du’a of asking, for seeking forgiveness, help, and protection. Both return to one reality: Directing yourself to Allah. Allah says: Qur’an 40:60 “Call upon Me, I will respond to you…” (Surah Ghafir) And: Qur’an 72:18 “And the masjids are for Allah, so do not call upon anyone with Allah.” (Surah Al-Jinn) This is direct. No intermediary. No channel. You ask Allah alone. What Du’a Proves Du’a is a test of Tawheed. When you raise your hands, you are declaring: Only Allah can hear me. Only Allah can respond. Only Allah can change my situation. So the real question is: Who do you call when it matters? In hardship. In fear. In desperation. If your du’a is purely for Allah, your foundation is sound. If it is mixed, then the foundation is shaken. Where Many Go Wrong They say: “We only ask Allah.” But when tested, they turn elsewhere. Calling upon: The dead. The absent. The created. Allah says: Qur’an 23:117 “And whoever invokes another god with Allah… his reckoning is only with his Lord…” (Surah Al-Mu’minun) This is not a small mistake. Du’a must be pure. Not shared. How Du’a Connects to the Three Principles Knowing your Lord: You know He alone answers. Knowing your religion: You follow how du’a is made, based on evidence. Knowing your Prophet ﷺ: You make du’a as he taught. So du’a is not just asking. It is belief in action. Second: Khawf (Fear) Fear is worship. Not every fear, like fear of danger or harm. But the fear that controls your actions. The fear that stops you or drives you. That belongs to Allah alone. Allah says: Qur’an 3:175 “So do not fear them, but fear Me, if you are believers.” (Surah Aal-e-Imran) What Fear Proves Fear shows who you truly submit to. You may say: “I follow Islam.” But when fear comes: Fear of people. Fear of loss. Fear of consequences. What do you obey? If fear of people leads you to disobey Allah, then your fear is misplaced. Because the heart gives priority to creation over the Creator. Types of Fear There is natural fear. Fear of harm or danger. This is normal. And there is worship-based fear. Fear that leads you to: Obey Allah. Avoid sin. Stay within limits. This is required. Where Many Go Wrong They fear people more than Allah. So they change their actions. They hide obedience. They delay obligations. They justify sin. Why? Fear of creation. This weakens the submission. And breaks the connection to the principles. How Fear Connects to the Three Principles Knowing your Lord: You know He controls harm and benefit. Knowing your religion: You know what must be obeyed and refuted. Knowing your Prophet ﷺ: You see how he remained firm despite fear. So your fear becomes directed. Not scattered. A Quiet Reality Du’a and fear expose everything. You can claim belief. But: Who do you call? Who do you fear? These two answers reveal your reality. Pause and Reflect: Ask yourself: When I need something, who do I turn to first? Is my du’a purely for Allah? Or is it mixed? When I am afraid, who controls my decisions? Allah? Or people? Because these are not small acts. They are from the greatest عبادات. What Comes Next Worship is not one act. It is a system. Du’a. Fear. Hope. Reliance. Love. Each one connects back to Tawheed. In the next article, In Shaa Allah, we continue with: Hope (Raja). Reliance (Tawakkul). And how they complete your worship.
