If You Don’t Fix This, Your Worship Will Never Be Accepted
All praise is due to Allah. Peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Final success belongs to the righteous, and there is no transgression except against the wrongdoers. As-Salaam Alaikum Wa Rah’matullahi Wa Barakaatuh! A Note Before You Read: You have seen the structure: Du’a. Fear. Hope. Reliance. Love. Now we move to what protects all of it. Because عبادات can exist on the outside. But without this, they collapse inside. Today: Humility (Tawadu’). Repentance (Tawbah). First: Humility (Tawadu’) Humility is not personality. It is worship. It is how your heart stands before Allah. Allah says: Qur’an 25:63 “And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth humbly…” (Surah Al-Furqan) This is not about how you walk. It is about how you see yourself. What Humility Really Means You do not see yourself above others. Not in knowledge. Not in worship. Not in status. You see your نقص (shortcomings). You see Allah’s favor. So you lower yourself. Not out of weakness, but out of truth. What Humility Produces Humility changes everything. You accept the truth quickly, even if it comes from someone younger. You do not argue to win. You listen to follow. And most importantly: You do not worship to be seen. Because you know who you are. Where Many Go Wrong Some worship, but they admire themselves. They count their deeds. They compare. They look down on others. Quietly. This destroys the عمل (action). Because pride and worship do not stay together. Abdullah bin Mas'ud narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: “No one who has an atom’s weight of arrogance in his heart will enter Paradise.” (Sahih Muslim 91) So the danger is not outside. It is inside. How Humility Connects to the Three Principles Knowing your Lord: You know how عظیم (great) He is. So you shrink. Knowing your religion: You accept evidence, even when it goes against you. Knowing your Prophet ﷺ: You see how he lived. He was the highest. Yet the most humble. So your worship becomes clean. Not inflated. Second: Repentance (Tawbah) Repentance is not a backup plan. It is worship. Continuous. Necessary. Allah says: Qur’an 66:8 “O you who believe, repent to Allah with sincere repentance…” (Surah At-Tahrim) And: Qur’an 39:53 “Do not despair of the mercy of Allah…” (Surah Az-Zumar) This door is always open. But not always used correctly. What Repentance Really Means Tawbah is not a word. It has conditions: You stop the sin. You feel regret. You decide not to return. If it involves others: You return their rights. This is real repentance. Not “Astaghfirullah” on the tongue alone. What Repentance Produces It cleans the heart. Every sin leaves a mark. Repentance removes it. The Prophet ﷺ said: “A servant commits a sin, then says: O Allah, forgive me… Allah says: My servant knows he has a Lord who forgives and punishes, I have forgiven him…” (Sahih al-Bukhari 7507, Muslim 2758) So the believer does not stay down; he returns. Again. And again. Where Many Go Wrong Two extremes. Some delay repentance. They say: “I will fix myself later.” But death does not wait. Others repent. Then return to the sin. Without struggle. Without seriousness. This weakens the heart. Real Tawbah has weight. How Repentance Connects to the Three Principles Knowing your Lord: You know He forgives. So you return. Knowing your religion: You know what must be left. Knowing your Prophet ﷺ: You follow how he repented. He used to seek forgiveness constantly. Even without sin like ours. So your repentance becomes real. Not seasonal. A Quiet Reality You can pray. You can fast. You can give. But: If pride enters, it corrupts. If sin stays, it builds. Humility protects your deeds. Repentance repairs them. Without these two: You carry actions. But lose acceptance. Pause and Reflect: Ask yourself: Do I see myself better than others? Or do I see my need for Allah? When I sin, what do I do? Delay? Or return immediately? Do I repent with my tongue only? Or with my actions? Because this is not optional. It decides whether your worship is accepted. What Comes Next Now the structure is complete: Du’a. Fear. Hope. Reliance. Love. Humility. Repentance. All of it returns to one thing: Tawheed . In the next article, In Shaa Allah, we will bring these acts together and show how they form a complete system of worship, not scattered acts, but a connected path.
